Honouring the traditions of Chinese New Year are paramount at Grand Lisboa, where the talented team of chefs at The 8 will once again prepare three classic Chinese New Year cakes – the Premium cane sugar cake with bird’s nest and coconut juice; Turnip cake with matsutake flavoured in fish broth and Taro cake with conpoy, morel mushroom and preserved meat – for guests to take home and share with family and friends. The 8 – recipient of three Michelin stars for seven consecutive years – will present the classic Chinese New Year dim sum dishes – Braised De-bone Pork Knuckle with Sea Moss and Lotus Root; Pan-fried Shanghainese Dumplings with Wagyu Beef and Watercress; Steamed Sea Cucumber filled with Sea Moss and Dried Oyster and more for lunch throughout Chinese New Year from February 12 – 18.

For guests who prefer to dine in at Noodle & Congee, the chefs are preparing an array of auspicious Chinese New Year dishes from January 26. The Goose Palm with Dried Oyster in Casserole symbolizes good fortune in the year ahead, and the Poached fish fillet with pickled vegetables and rice pudding represents wealth and prosperity.

Blessings of Good Fortune

The God of Fortune will greet guests upon arrival at The 8, Round-The-Clock Coffee Shop and Noodle & Congee during the first three days of Chinese New Year from February 12 – 14, offering blessings of prosperity and good luck all throughout the Year of the Ox.
