Grand Lisboa Hotel celebrates Christmas with a seven-foot-tall Christmas Tree in the lobby

[Macau, For Immediate Release] ─ Grand Lisboa Hotel kicked off the festive season with the opening ceremony of the Hotel Lobby Hamper House, and at the same time, unveiled Macau’s tallest Christmas Tree – made entirely of chocolate – a delicious temptation that stands seven feet tall which fills the whole lobby with an enchanting and sweet fragrance.

The event was attended by hotel patrons and guests, media and local partners. Mr William Visser, General Manager of Grand Lisboa Hotel, gave a welcome speech, followed by a walkthrough on the concept and process of making the tree for the media by Norihito Muranaka, Executive Pastry Chef. Last but not the least, exciting moments of the opening ceremony were led by the officiating guests – Ms Rocana Ho (Assistant General Manager – Marketing Card Business Department of ICBC Bank); Mr William Visser (General Manager of Grand Lisboa Hotel); Mr Henry Kong (Hotel Manager of Grand Lisboa Hotel) and Norihito Muranaka (Executive Pastry Chef of Grand Lisboa Hotel).

Norihito Muranaka, has spent decades perfecting the art of confectionary creation in France and Japan, and to celebrate Christmas this year, he and his team have meticulously handcrafted a 7-foot-tall Chocolate Christmas Tree for the lobby. Chef Muranaka and his team of talented pastry chefs created over 150 pine boughs, drizzled white chocolate ‘snow’ over them and sculpted 100 pieces of chocolate Christmas ornaments to decorate the tree. This deliciously designed tree is made of over 250 pounds of chocolate.

Mr William Visser, General Manager of Grand Lisboa Hotel said, “Grand Lisboa Hotel continues to support the local community and has always been committed to promoting the food culture of Macau. It is our pleasure to bring back traditions and become the perfect location and the best place for local citizens and tourists to celebrate the festive season!”
